At Angus Pringle Orthodontics, fees are explained clearly and in plain English. Orthodontic treatment is a significant decision, and cost matters — but it should never feel vague, rushed, or full of surprises.

Because every smile is different, the cost of treatment varies depending on what you need and how complex the tooth movement and bite correction are. After a full orthodontic assessment, you will receive a written treatment plan outlining your options, the expected timescale, and all costs clearly before you decide how to proceed.

What affects the cost of orthodontic treatment?

Orthodontic fees are influenced by a few straightforward factors:

  • Complexity of tooth alignment and bite
  • Type of treatment (for example, fixed braces or clear aligners)
  • Treatment length and number of review appointments needed
  • Whether refinements or additional appliances are required

You can explore treatment options in more detail here: adult orthodontic treatment and braces for teenagers.

What is included in the treatment fee?

Fees are discussed upfront so you know exactly what is included. In most cases, treatment fees are fully inclusive and cover:

  • Your orthodontic appliance (braces or aligners)
  • Routine appointments and reviews during treatment
  • Laboratory fees
  • Removal of braces / completion of aligner treatment
  • One year of follow-up after treatment finishes

After treatment, retainers are essential to protect your result long-term. You can read more about this on our retainers page.

Payment plans

Many patients prefer to spread the cost. Interest-free payment options may be available, and your Patient Treatment Coordinator can talk you through the choices after your consultation.

Orthodontic consultation fees

The consultation is where Angus assesses your teeth and bite properly, listens to what you want to achieve, and explains the options that are suitable for you. A 3D digital scan can be taken so you can see what’s going on and what a realistic outcome could look like.

The cost of an adult orthodontic consultation is £170 and a child or teenager orthodontic consultation is £120. A written report, including an estimate of treatment costs, is provided following your consultation.

FAQs about orthodontic costs

How much does orthodontic treatment cost?

Costs vary depending on your teeth, your bite, and the type of treatment required. After a full assessment, you’ll receive a personalised plan with clear options, timelines, and fees before you make any decision.

What affects the cost of braces or aligners?

The biggest factors are case complexity, appliance choice (braces vs aligners), estimated treatment length, and whether refinements or additional appliances are needed to achieve a stable result.

Is orthodontic treatment more expensive for adults?

Fees are based on clinical complexity rather than age. Some adult cases are straightforward; others involve bite correction or previous relapse and can be more involved.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Monthly payment options may be available, including interest-free plans, subject to approval. These are explained clearly after your consultation so you can choose what suits you.

Is the consultation fee included in the cost of treatment?

The consultation fee covers a full orthodontic assessment, discussion of options, and a written plan with estimated costs. It is separate from the overall treatment fee.

Can I get an idea of costs before paying for a full consultation?

Yes. You can start with a FREE online consultation where Angus reviews your photos and gives you initial guidance on what may be suitable and what the likely next steps are.
